CALCTRA operates three optical laboratories across the State of California. The Optical Enterprise is responsible for furnishing prescription eyewear to the beneficiaries of the California Medical Assistance Program (Medi-Cal). In addition, CALCTRA provides prescription safety eyewear to government agencies throughout California along with prescription eyewear and reading glasses to CDCR’s Incarcerated Individuals.

Medi-Cal Patients FAQ’s
- CALCTRA is unable to assist Medi-Cal patients with order status. Per HIPAA regulations, please contact your provider for assistance.
- To order glasses, Medi-Cal patients should contact their insurance company to receive a list of Medi-Cal providers in their area. Once the patient sees the provider, the provider will contact CALCTRA.
